(NCV) When it says, "He went up," what does it mean? It means that he first came down to the earth.
(HCSB) But what does "He ascended" mean except that He descended to the lower parts of the earth?
(NIRV) What does "he went up" mean? It can only mean that he also came down to the lower, earthly places.

Affected Teaching
Now the Bible is teaching us that those who are in Christ are members of His body. This we understand, but of his flesh and bones? When the Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead, He came out of the grave bodily, not a spirit. Some teach that Christ only rose in Spirit. If that is the case, then His grave would be with us today, and believe me the enemies of Christ would have definitely handed down the location of His grave to every generation, but they can’t, because where ever it was, it is now empty.

Affected Teaching

Verse 10 begins the great section of Ephesians 6 which teaches that the Brethren are to rely solely upon the Lord and His might. This is why the message is directed specifically to the saved, AKA brethren. When the modern versions omit “my brethren” it is making it sound as if anyone can be strong in the Lord. This would include the religious and the disconnected unsaved. Only those who are truly saved will be able to be strong in the Lord because the Holy Spirit dwells in the saved and not in the unsaved. The spiritually dead will never become strong in the Lord until they become saved. False religions will love these type of omissions because they can then fill the breach with their religious rhetoric and attempt to make their adherents believe they can be strong in the Lord. Just ask Goliath if that is possible. Once again the King James Bible proves its superiority by giving us the whole story and not forcing us to rely upon clerical hooey to fill in the spaces.
